Wednesday was library day at Michiru! Standard 7 & 8 had their first library session with some children taking home their first library book. We focused on prediction using the pictures. The children really enjoyed using the texts & worked hard to explain their ideas in pairs and small groups. Barry, a Canadian lawyer who we met at our Lodge, came with me today to see the school and was a great help with the library sessions. I ran 2 CPD sessions today to discuss the teaching strategies we were using. The sports leaders were presented with medals today & the whole school enjoyed the occasion! We had the 'Old Firm' match today in Malawi: Lipunga vs Michiru! The transportation was interesting with 12 players, 4 teachers, Barry & the driver in a 10 seater mini bus! Much singing was had! Michiru won 2-1!!!
