As our third day with Malawi Leaders of Learning (MLOL) comes to a close, we’re filled with admiration for the depth of reflection, resilience, and leadership we’ve seen.

Today’s focus was all about embedding strong leadership behaviours into daily school life not just in theory, but in action.

We explored how effective leaders shape culture through consistent, values-informed decisions and how clear routines and expectations can empower both staff and students.

Conversations were richer than ever. Leaders shared personal experiences of navigating difficult decisions, supporting teacher growth, and keeping learners at the heart of every choice.

These exchanges reminded us that, while contexts may differ, the core of great leadership remains universal: trust, clarity, and purpose.

We are reminded daily that change does not require perfect conditions, just committed people.

Here in rural Malawi, commitment is something we see in abundance.

To the school leaders walking this journey with us: thank you for your courage, curiosity, and candour.

It’s an honour to walk beside you.

Let’s keep going. Let’s keep leading and keep learning.
