Productive day at Ndirande centre, children were enthusiastic despite not getting porridge again this morning.
We just kept the children distracted by doing lots of fun learning. We introduced coloured groups to the children, they are now in red, green and blue groups with coloured dots on their name badges which the caregivers made.
Some also stood up and pointed to their name and said their name. We also played ball games and showed the care givers how to play them. Also introduced the nursery rhyme Twinkle Twinkle Little Star from our nursery rhymes booklet which is challenging but the children are enjoying doing the actions and beginning to say some of the words.
Alison and I then took the green group for 'We are going on a Bear Hunt' story outside. Alison told the story with the interpreter translating and I then took the children to act out the story.
The children loved it!
It was the bears first day at their new home and they are having lots of fun getting to know the children.
